Great responses for the Learning Mentor Programme
The Learning Mentor Programme is led by our Learning Strategies Department and has been running for more than a decade. Our Novi and Second Year boys are trained as mentors, developing their ability to coach younger primary school pupils in numeracy and literacy, as well as broadening their understanding of how to support neurodivergent pupils in their learning.
The Tonbridge Learning Mentors are assigned a pupil to work with for the duration of the Lent Term, which allows them to develop their communication skills and foster an environment that encourages the younger children to build up their confidence. Throughout the term, the mentors share valuable resources, provide tips for memorising new information, and take on the responsibility of delivering the programme each week.
At the end of the term, the programme concluded with a celebratory lunch, where the mentors are awarded the Learning Mentor tie in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
