Tonbridge School hosts the Six Nations Hockey Tournament

Over the Easter weekend, Tonbridge School hosted the Six Nations Hockey Tournament, welcoming international U16 boys’ and U18 girls’ teams.

In the U16 boys’ tournament, teams from Germany, Belgium, England, Scotland, Ireland and Austria competed in a series of matches. Belgium emerged as the eventual champions after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Germany in the final, with England securing a well-deserved bronze medal.

The U18 girls’ competition was equally compelling, with the England team reaching the final after an impressive run through the group stage. Despite their best efforts, they were defeated 5–2 by Spain in a fast-paced final.

The School’s world-class facilities provided the perfect setting for high-level international hockey, with players, coaches and supporters alike, full of praise for the School’s hospitality and the excellent condition of the playing surfaces.

Master in Charge of Hockey, Kieron Walsh, said, “It was a true privilege to host such a prestigious event and to support the development of the next generation of international players and we look forward to continuing to welcome sporting excellence to the School.”
