Record-breaking year for Medicine and Dentistry Offers

This year has been an exceptional year for Medicine and Dentistry, with the largest number of applications in the last decade to Medical and Dental Schools around the world.

Thirteen students have received university offers, with nine securing two or more offers. This includes three from Cambridge, and multiple offers from prestigious universities in Hong Kong for Medicine. These are particularly notable given the increasingly competitive nature of admissions, where multiple offers are exceptionally difficult to obtain, and the average success rate is 15% per application.

In the UK, offers were received from Cambridge (3), Birmingham (3), and King’s College London (3), followed by Imperial College London (2), Manchester (2), Nottingham (2), Queen Mary University of London (2), and Brighton and Sussex Medical School (2). Offers were also secured from Edinburgh, UCL, Bristol, Exeter, Lancaster, and the University of East Anglia, demonstrating both breadth and depth in this year’s outcomes. The highest number of offers came from the University of Hong Kong (5) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (4), reflecting strong international success and continued interest from Tonbridge students for studying overseas.

In the UCAT admissions test, a requirement for entry into Medicine and Dentistry, the group achieved a record-breaking average score of 3043, surpassing the national average of 2581. These outstanding results were supported by tailored interview preparation, rigorous academic mentoring, and UCAT workshops alongside a wide range of speakers at the weekly MedSoc meetings.
