The Creative Writing Society releases their fourth anthology, Pirate Radio

The Creative Writing Society held its annual evening of readings to launch its fourth anthology, Pirate Radio.

At the beginning of the event, Jamie (WH5), the Society’s Secretary, delivered an excellent foreword, inspired by the term, ‘inevitability’, encouraging his fellow society members to follow suit, tackling the question of ‘Is anything truly inevitable?’

Jamie said, “The conflict between fate and free will has been woven into the very fabric of the diverse range of prose and poetry produced by the Society. So, as you read our pieces, try and contemplate the fates of the various characters you come across, and whether the paths they take are chosen by their own free will, or by a higher force pulling the strings of destiny.”

Deputy Head of English, Sam Farmer, said, “As ever, the event allows the boys to share their work in the wonderful Skinners’ Library, where audience members were treated to walks through London, images of late blossom and gripping detective fiction.”

Congratulations to all those who received their Creative Writing ties for their efforts.
