Tonbridge sail to glory in the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association Regatta
Tonbridge’s senior sailors attended the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association (BDSRA) Eastern Championships, where both teams saw a wealth of success.
Tonbridge Black fiercely competed, beating off a strong challenge from Norwich School, winning the competition outright. Tonbridge Reds also sailed impressively, securing a commendable fourth place finish.
Captain of the First Team, Tommy (HS5), said, “Our training in the previous weeks had been looking promising and we went into the championships looking for podium finish. It’s always an event that attracts top teams such as Norwich School and Royal Hospital School which adds to the atmosphere. Indeed, many of our competitors have been long-standing competition. Heading into the final against Norwich and securing a 2-0 victory was a fantastic way for Oliver and me to conclude our time representing Tonbridge.”
