Max’s track record of success

In what has been an outstanding Term for athletics, with both emerging and established talent enjoying much success, Max (WH4) has continued to reach new heights with his performances.

Since making his mark in the Novi, when he recorded the second-fastest 100m time of 11.4s, Max has shown no signs of slowing down, breaking the Senior 100m record twice in May this year.

The first of these came during a home fixture, where Max ran an impressive time of 10.5s, surpassing the previous record of 10.81s held by OT, Zac Nwogwugwu (HS 17–22). He then went on to better his record at a Youth Development League fixture at Eton, clocking 10.47s, qualifying him for the European U20 Championships.

Reflecting on his achievements, Max says, “As a European U20 Championships qualifying time, it ranks me 4th in the UK and 7th in Europe in the U20 category, which includes my year group and the two years above. Among first-year U20 athletes, I am currently ranked 1st in the UK and 2nd in Europe.”

The School congratulates Max on his successes to date and wishes him well as he continues his track pursuits.
