Science Snippets: 4 minutes to win it
With the Science Snippets competition underway, budding scientists from across our local community presented on their chosen specialisms to a panel of top scientists.
This year’s judges included special guest and Head Judge, Professor Becky Parker MBE HonFInstP, at Simon Langton Grammar School for Girls and Queen Mary University London, alongside guest judges, David Keyworth, Head of Science, Caterham School; Zoe Loveridge, Director of Science Faculty, Weald of Kent Grammar School; and Nick Waite, Head of Science, Tonbridge School.
The panel observed both the Year 11 and under category and the Year 12-13 category, marking the submissions on their content, clarity, creativity, and captivation.
Science Coordinator, Lisa Alford, said, “It was inspiring to see the young scientists present with such passion and clarity. The standard was incredibly high, and it’s clear that this next generation is ready to push the boundaries of scientific thinking. Competitions like this show just how engaging and creative science can be!”
