Gold for the UK in the International Mathematical Olympiad

Earlier this summer, Alex (CH4) showcased extraordinary academic ability when competing in the annual International Mathematical Olympiads, held in Sunshine Coast, Australia. Representing the UK team, where three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals were obtained, Alex shone, securing one of the three gold medals. His efforts place him in 2nd place in the all-time rankings.

Alex shared, “The most exciting part about the International Mathematical Olympiad is meeting other students from all across the world and getting to know their different cultures while sharing the same passion for maths”. Throughout his time at the School, Alex has found that “The teachers regularly explore advanced topics with our class, which helped me build my confidence, preparing me for international competitions.”
