Boys launch Movember Campaign to highlight the importance of men’s health
A dozen of the School’s Upper Sixth students will be growing moustaches throughout this month as they lend their support to the national Movember campaign.
The Movember charity is aiming to ‘change the face of men’s health’ by raising awareness of, and funding research into, areas including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and overall mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Jac (HS5) said, “Mental health is a universal issue. It is an invisible disease that many people in the world struggle with. Through taking part in Movember for the School, we hope that we can encourage our peers to feel comfortable enough to ask for help when they need it, and at the same time, for people to look out for their friends, and be there to support them.”
The boys’ primary goal is to do their part to increase awareness of these subjects, as well as to collect funds for the charity through a JustGiving page that they have set up.
“It’s important because every little change counts. If the Movember movement leads to only one person reaching out for help, then all the money raised is 100% worth it.”
