French students immerse themselves in language and culture on Montpellier trip
Over half term, pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Montpellier in the south of France. Following the success of the previous year’s visit, this year’s excursion once again proved to be a highlight of the academic calendar.
The trip was open to Second Year and Third Year boys studying French, offering an invaluable opportunity to put their language skills into practice in an authentic setting. For the Novi pupils, the experience was a major confidence boost, while the Second Years benefited greatly from the timing – just weeks before completing the IGCSE French syllabus and shortly ahead of their mock examinations.
Head of French, Jean-Patrick Vieu, said, “It has been a really amazing trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better or keener group of boys. They immersed themselves in the culture, bonded with their host families, made the most of their language lessons, and enjoyed a range of activities – from visiting Sète to hiking to the top of Pic Saint-Loup and discovering Montpellier’s artistic offerings, both classical and modern.”
