Pre-season tour to Bayern Munich

The First and Second XIs completed their pre-season tour to FC Bayern Munich, where pupils enjoyed the opportunity to train at both the First XI facilities and the renowned Bayern Academy Campus, gaining valuable insight into elite-level preparation and coaching environments.

The boys also took part in a memorable stadium tour of the iconic Allianz Arena, home of FC Bayern Munich, which offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of Europe’s most famous football venues.

On the pitch, the First XI contested a competitive fixture against local side FC Interculturale. With both teams evenly matched in the first half, the breakthrough came when captain Harry (WH4) opened the scoring. Further goals from Harry (CH4) and Jake (CH4) put Tonbridge in the lead; however, FC Interculturale responded strongly and drew level with ten minutes remaining, setting up a tense finale. Harry (CH4) then completed an impressive hat-trick with two late goals, securing a well-deserved victory for Tonbridge.

Following the match, the boys had the opportunity to unwind and enjoy the festive atmosphere of Munich, visiting the local Christmas markets around Marienplatz to conclude an excellent tour.
