MIT students inspire Tonbridge’s young scientists
Tonbridge School is proud to continue its long-established partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), delivering its Global Teaching Labs (GTL) programme.
This year, the School welcomed Ethan and Nitya, who supported students by mentoring and delivering workshops in STEM subjects, offering valuable insight into university life in the United States.
Nitya is in her fourth year, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics and Economics. When asked about what she loves most about being an MIT student, she explains:
My favourite part about MIT is definitely the people. It’s so inspiring to be surrounded by people who are so passionate about what they do. Even though it’s a challenging environment, everyone is really supportive, and that pushes you to grow and become the best version of yourself.
Ethan, who is based in New York, is a Senior studying Chemistry and Biology at MIT and hopes to pursue a career in Medicine in the future. He was motivated to take part in the Global Teaching Labs programme by the opportunity to share his passion for science, support younger students in their learning, and gain experience in teaching and outreach.
