Tonbridge hockey goes from strength to strength
Congratulations to the U16 hockey team, who were crowned England Hockey U16 Plate champions after a thrilling 4-3 victory over King Edward’s School, Birmingham, at Lee Valley Hockey Centre. The final was a fitting end to the campaign, with the boys showing great composure under pressure.
Kieron Walsh, Master in Charge of Hockey, said, “The U16 Plate Final victory was a wonderful reflection of the boys’ commitment, resilience and team spirit. To win a national final at Lee Valley, the home of hockey, is a very special achievement, and the boys should be immensely proud of the way they represented the School.”
Reflecting on the season, Kieron added, “What has been particularly pleasing is that this success has been part of a much wider season of progress across the sport, with boys at all age groups contributing to a really positive and ambitious programme.”
