Centre stage with National Youth Theatre
Congratulations to Drama Scholar Beau (PH1) on being accepted onto the National Youth Theatre membership course. Beau auditioned alongside 5,000 applicants, with only 500 places awarded for the summer acting and musical theatre pathway.
Reflecting on this achievement, Beau said, “I have been fascinated by theatre from a young age. I think it is the unique power of storytelling, and the exciting way performance brings it to life. I wanted to audition for the NYT to challenge myself as an actor, discover new skills, and have the opportunity to work with inspirational practitioners, learning alongside other creatives.”
Following a three hour workshop, Beau performed an edited version of his drama scholarship piece, One Man Two Guvnors by Richard Bean, accompanied by his guitar. His performance secured him a place on the course.
Looking ahead, Beau added, “I have so much to learn and discover as an actor. This is just the beginning for me. Acting is a craft you have to continually grow and nurture. This opportunity will give me access to specialist workshops and masterclasses, and I am looking forward to making the most of the experience.”
