Global success in international Physics Bowl competition
The Physics Department is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of PC (JH2) in this year’s Association of American Physics Teachers (AAPT) Physics Bowl competition.
Now in its 40th year, the Physics Bowl is a highly respected international competition that attracts students from schools across the world.
PC competed in Division 1, a category designed for pupils in the Lower Sixth and below, and achieved an exceptional score of 38 out of 40, an incredible accomplishment given that PC is only in his Second Year. Out of 7,101 students entered globally in this division, only 101 students achieved a higher score, placing PC among the top-performing students worldwide.
The statistical context makes this accomplishment even more impressive. The average score for Division 1 this year was 21.6, with a standard deviation of 7.1, highlighting the considerable challenge posed by this year’s paper.
We congratulate PC on this remarkable achievement and look forward to seeing his continued success in the years ahead.
