Tonbridge hosts Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup
Tonbridge hosted one of the qualifiers for the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup, a new international hard ball competition for state schools. The qualifiers took place across the Lower fields, showcasing the talent from a range of state schools across Surrey, Sussex, and Kent.
The cup is run by funded by Barclays through the Black Heart Foundation, which seeks to champion grassroots cricket and support making a cricket game for all.
Named after two of England’s greatest state-educated cricketers, the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup will be run by MCC and the MCC Foundation. The School has a long-standing relationship with both organisations, exemplified by the recent celebration of the 150th anniversary of the cricket fixture against the MCC.
The schools who reach the finals will play at Lord’s, the home of cricket.
We wish the Schools luck as they progress towards the finals in September.
