Fraser to represent Scotland at International Rowing Regatta

Following an outstanding performance at the Scottish National Rowing Championships, Fraser (OH4) has been selected to represent Scotland at this month’s Home International Rowing Regatta, the four ‘Home Nations’ competition.

The selection marks a major milestone in Fraser’s rowing career after he became the fastest 17-year-old competitor at the Championships.
In addition to earning selection for Scotland’s Junior Men’s A Single Scull, Fraser has also been named as stroke of the Junior Men’s Quad.

Fraser said, “It took a while to sink in. I wasn’t expecting to be the only junior male to make advanced selection, so it was a real surprise.”

Now, Fraser is looking ahead to representing Scotland on the international stage for the first time.

“Honestly, I’m looking forward to the whole thing,” he said. “Racing in both a single and a quad means I get two cracks at it, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the squad properly. And if we make the podium, I’ll need to attempt Flower of Scotland – I’d better start learning the words!”
