International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad Bronze for Tonbridge student
In August, the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), held in Kazakhstan, brought together participants from around the world, with 471 students from 108 countries taking part.
Tonbridge School student, Yijun (PH5), gained a Bronze medal for his individual performance for Team UK. This is particularly noteworthy, given that he secured a Gold medal competing for the national team in the International Chemistry Olympiad in June.
Reflecting on the experience, he said, “I’m delighted with these outcomes and grateful for the opportunity to represent the UK in two international Olympiads in the same year. It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience and has taught me a great deal.”
“As one of the School’s Praes, I feel that I should not only benefit from the opportunities the School has given me but also help create opportunities for younger students. It would be a privilege to support the next generation of Olympiad participants and hopefully encourage even more students to challenge themselves in these subjects.”
