Ollie Sykes named in England Squad
Tonbridge is delighted to celebrate a remarkable achievement for OT Ollie Sykes (HS 18–23), who has been named in the England squad for the upcoming two-match T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Ollie has been selected as part of a strong 20-player England squad, with the two matches taking place at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground in Chelmsford on Friday 11 September and the County Ground in Beckenham on Sunday 13 September.
His selection marks another milestone in an impressive cricketing journey that began at a very young age. Ollie joined the Surrey pathway at just seven years old and progressed through the county’s age-group system before establishing himself as a batting all-rounder for Surrey Cricket Club.
During his time at Tonbridge, he produced a series of outstanding performances and in 2024, Ollie was named Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year, following an exceptional season in which he scored 935 runs. His performances included an impressive 148 against Harrow, 157 against the MCC, and a remarkable T20 score of 150 against Brighton College.
His selection for England represents another exciting step in his career, and we are incredibly proud of his achievement.
