Tonbridge Philharmonic Society celebrates 80 years of music
Tonbridge School is delighted to welcome back the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society for its 2026/27 season, marking a very special milestone as the Society celebrates its 80th anniversary.
Established in 1946, Tonbridge Philharmonic has been a vibrant part of musical life in West Kent for eight decades, bringing together talented musicians and singers to perform an inspiring programme of orchestral and choral works.
The new season promises an exciting line-up, with performances taking place at the Chapel of St Augustine.. Highlights include Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius on 21 November, Family Carols on 13 December, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 in February, Bach’s St John Passion in April and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in May.
The season will culminate in a special 80th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday 10 July 2027, bringing this landmark year to a fitting close.
We look forward to welcoming the Society, its musicians and audiences back to Tonbridge School for another year of exceptional music, and to marking 80 years of music at the heart of our community.
