Park House was founded in 1867 in response to a large increase in pupil numbers at this stage of the School’s history.

Park House has a convenient location near to the High Street and to the main School entrance.

First Years share three-person dormitories and then move into single study bedrooms from the Second Year onwards. The cricketers Graham and Christopher Cowdrey, the writer Christopher Reid and the actor Maurice Denham are all old boys.

About the Housemaster

Toby Sampson studied Developmental Biology at Edinburgh University before completing a PGCE at Buckingham. He started his teaching career at Sherborne School, where for three years he was Senior Tutor in a boarding house. He arrived at Tonbridge in 2010 and was Assistant Housemaster in Judde for three years before taking up the Lower Master role prior to becoming Housemaster.

He has co-directed several Lower School plays, coaches rugby and hockey, and was previously Master in Charge of Skiing. He is married to Sabine, a Montessori early years teacher, and they have three sons, Otis, Arlo and Billy.

About the Matron

Jo Boler is Matron in Park House. Jo is always there to offer help and a friendly word and makes a point of going to support the boys in their various activities including sports, music and drama.

A trained food nutrition technician and former nanny, Jo’s other interests include theatre, travel and her dog, Gus. Her room is right at the centre of the House by the front door and is always full of boys , and seedlings which end up in the House garden that Jo looks after with the boys.
