Tonbridge hosts England Hockey Coaching Roadshow

The School hosted an England Hockey Coaching Roadshow on the Foundation Astro, led by Sam Beveridge, GB Coach Developer and current England Women’s Team Manager.

The practical session brought together 24 coaches and teachers from Tonbridge, local prep and state schools, and hockey clubs in Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells. It provided an opportunity for participants to share ideas, develop new approaches, and explore how best to create engaging and challenging sessions for players.

A key focus of the afternoon was how to involve goalkeepers more effectively in training, ensuring they are not treated as an afterthought but are fully integrated into game-based activities.

The event reflected the School’s commitment to supporting hockey beyond Tonbridge, using its facilities and expertise to contribute to the wider local hockey community.
