Rory Sutherland: The Science of knowing what economists are wrong about
As part of the School’s Seminar programme, a series of talks and presentations aimed at introducing boys to ideas they would not usually encounter as part of the curriculum, welcomed Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman of Ogilvy, renowned author and social media personality, to speak to the Lower VI.
With his customary energy and discursive style, Rory provided the boys with an insightful perspective into the world he inhabits where behavioural science intertwines with creativity and innovative thinking.
Lower Sixth attendee, Alexander (OH4), said, “Rory Sutherland’s seminar was certainly the one I most looked forward to this year – and it delivered! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with him afterwards about some of my own interests, such as game theory, and how they tied into the content of the talk. I’m very grateful to have had such a fantastic experience!”
Lower Sixth attendee, Jaden, said, “Having heard so much about Rory Sutherland, I didn’t know what to expect, but from the first minute of his talk, I was gripped. Mr Sutherland has a unique style of presenting that relates and engages the audience, and yet he is able to make profound points while maintaining his humour. It was my favourite seminar so far this year.”
