Tonbridge takes the honours in the Weald and Downland Trophy

Tonbridge’s swimmers completed a treble in the Weald and Downland trophy, winning all shields across the U14, U16 and Seniors age groups.
The School hosted the event shortly before half term (Tuesday 8 February), and were joined by pupils from Sevenoaks, Epsom, Eastbourne, Walthamstow Hall and Benenden for what proved to be an excellent and exciting competition.
Josie McNeil, Master in Charge of Swimming, said: “It’s the first time our teams have won all three trophies in the Weald and Downland, and so the boys deserve lots of credit for their performances. I was particularly struck by the good natured, competitive spirit between all the swimmers, and the commitment shown in every race.
“I was also impressed by the efforts of our Novi swimmers, who were representing the School for the first time.”
In addition, a number of Tonbridge boys have recently competed in the Kent Individual Swimming Championships. All performed well, with Max El-Mokadem (WW1) winning medals in each of his 16 events, which resulted in an amazing haul of one gold, 11 silver and four bronze medals.
