Science students demonstrate knowledge and skills to win STEM Competition
Four of the School’s Science Ambassadors used their knowledge of artificial intelligence, and their engineering skills, to emerge as winners in a STEM Competition.
Lower Sixth boys Jerry Chen (Sc4), Isaac King (CH4), Ryan Ng (FH4) and Michael Nyamali (SH4) were taking part in STEM Solutions 23, where their scientific knowledge was tested in a series of challenging question rounds also featuring Caterham, Sevenoaks and hosts Woldingham School.
The boys’ engineering skills were put to the test with a timed construction challenge, and they also pitched their ideas to a panel of experts on the topic of artificial intelligence and how it will affect us in the future.
Lisa Alford, the School’s Science Co-ordinator, said: “The Tonbridge team demonstrated exceptional knowledge during the questions, and showcased their ability to construct a bridge that withstood substantial loading. Their presentation on artificial intelligence was both captivating and enlightening.”
Team Tonbridge emerged as winners, with the boys awarded a trophy by the Head of Science at Woldingham.
