Tonbridge School rewards its ‘academic leaders’ with Post GCSE Honorary Academic Scholarships
Last week the School recognised and celebrated some of the outstanding GCSE results achieved over the summer. With great academic success over the last two years, 91 percent of GCSE grades awarded were at 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A), upholding the strong academic results highlighted year in, year out at Tonbridge.
The Honorary Academic Scholarship ceremonies celebrate those who went above and beyond, displaying exceptional levels of academic excellence. The prized scholarships were awarded by James Priory, the School’s Headmaster, and Mark Weatheritt, Deputy Head Academic.
A group of 33 students received awards, in recognition of their achievements across the curriculum in their GCSE examinations this summer.
Mr Priory offered the boys his warmest congratulations, adding that the conferment of an Honorary Academic Scholarship was a recognition from the School that each of them achieved highly impressive standards.
“These awards not only recognise the boys’ outstanding grades at GCSE but also their opportunity in the Sixth Form to promote intellectual curiosity across the School as a whole, encouraging everyone to make the most of the amazing super-curriculum we offer,” he said.
