Sqn Ldr Griffith returned for an insightful talk in the EM Forster Theatre

The Combined Cadet Force was delighted to welcome Sqn Ldr Tim Griffith, RAF Chinook pilot and Flight Commander based at RAF Odiham, for an inspiring talk in the EM Forster Theatre.

Sqn Ldr Griffith is already well known to the School community. In March 2023, he memorably flew his Chinook helicopter to Tonbridge School as part of the CCF’s Annual Inspection Day. Following the parade, cadets were afforded the rare opportunity to fly in a military helicopter, taking part in a series of short flights over the local area. Even the Headmaster was able to experience a flight.

On this occasion, Sqn Ldr Griffith returned to speak to cadets about his training, operational service, and the realities of day-to-day life as a front-line helicopter pilot. His engaging account offered valuable insight into leadership, teamwork, and service in the Royal Air Force, and proved both informative and motivating for all pupils in attendance.
