Jazz and Acoustic Night 2026

Zachary (FH5) and Sebastian (MH5) introduced this year’s Jazz and Acoustic Night, which took place on Friday 6 February in Big School. The cabaret-style tables provided a convivial atmosphere for families, staff and local supporters to enjoy the entertainment provided by eleven bands and ensembles.

The programme spanned both genres and decades – including music by Duke Ellington, Chet Baker and The Doobie Brothers, in addition to innovative acoustic arrangements of classics by the Bee Gees and David Bowie.

Highlights included Harry (PH5) and Tristan (WW5) fronting the Blues Band’s performance of the Blues Brothers’ hit, Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, complete with trademark hats and sunglasses, a virtuosic performance of Gary Moore’s Still got the blues, and Big Band’s rendition of ELO’s Mr Blue Sky.
