RS Feva World Championships
Throughout the Summer Term, the RS Feva Worlds Team trained and competed in preparation for the final event of the season, the RS Feva World Championships. After strong results at the Nationals in Scotland, the team was ready for its biggest challenge yet.
Tonbridge Sailors joined the opening ceremony, parading through Aix-les-Bains with over 400 sailors, parents, and coaches from fourteen nations.
The 200-boat fleet was split into three flights to determine gold, silver, and bronze finals. Notably, Rock (Sc2) and Mark (MH2), new to sailing, nearly made the silver fleet and scored a top five finish in one race, an incredible achievement.
Experienced sailors Emmanuel (HS3) and John (FH3) comfortably qualified for the silver fleet and raced near the front throughout. Day four brought another long day on the water, nearly eight hours afloat, but the sailors dug deep, as the final day brought no wind, making day four’s results final.
Head of Sailing, Jonathon Moss, said, “All teams performed admirably, especially Emmanuel and John, who finished fourth in the silver fleet, just shy of the podium. Still, a fantastic effort all around. Well done to all our sailors, and a big thank you to the staff who gave up their summer week to make it happen.”
After a successful campaign and World Championships this year, we are now looking to select our new RS Feva Worlds Team for 2026. The campaign sees boys of all sailing abilities training to compete at National and International events throughout the Summer Term 2026. No prior experience is necessary, but an enthusiasm for water-based sports is essential. To be considered for selection, boys in the Novi and Second Year should attend the RS Feva Worlds Team selection trials on Thursday 18 September and Tuesday 23 September, during games.
Anyone wishing to attend will need to register their interest with our Head of Sailing, Jonathan Moss jonathan.moss@tonbridge-school.org.
