Maths students make their mark in the Intermediate Olympiad
First, Second and Third Year boys have been taking part in the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad and the Kangaroo, the follow-up rounds to the Intermediate Maths Challenge.
The Olympiad consists of a set of challenging questions, requiring full written solutions: the competition is aimed at the top 1,500 students in the country.
The Kangaroo, which follows the previous format of multiple-choice questions, is aimed at the top 10,000 students in the country.
Tonbridge saw an excellent set of results. Five boys, in particular, reached highly impressive scores in the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad.
Yijun Wang (PH1) scored 48/60;
Alex Chui (CH2) scored 59, and Justin Leung (JH2) 53;
Ralph Edmondson (OH3) scored 59, which was second best in the country, and Sam Zang (FH3) 58, which was fourth place in the country.
Well done to all the boys taking part, and of course congratulations to Ralph, Sam, and all those above for their fine achievements.
